Pastors & Staff

Colston Copeland

Lead Pastor

Pastor Colston and his lovely wife Emily, have been serving in full time ministry for over 15 years in various roles in various states. In the spring of 2020, God began to shift the calling on Colston's life and it became evident that God was moving Him into a lead pastor role. Through the kindness of God, the work of the Holy Spirit and the generosity of NorthRidge Church, Church of The Way was launched and Colston steps right into the lead pastor role.

Maggie Wardell

Worship Director

Maggie grew up in the church and music has always been a staple in her life. From singing in children's choirs to leading worship in various settings, the call to step into a full time worship leader role was a big step of faith in 2016. Maggie's passion for Jesus, for music and for serving has created one of the most worshipful environments in the Downriver Community.

Lindsey Schwochow

Children's Director

Lindsey Schwochow's love of Jesus and heart to serve has lead her to be involved in many facets of the church over the years. From serving as an administrative assistant to Pastor Colston for a number of years, to volunteering in kids ministry, her heart for children was never satisfied with just being a volunteer. In the summer of 2022, Lindsey stepped into the role of Children's Director and has overseen the transition from NorthRidge to Church of The Way with grace and excellence.

Travis Sharp

Student Pastor

Travis’ heart for student ministry started way back when he was a student in high school. While in college, his internship and involvement in CRU became a pivotal season in his maturing love for God and student ministry. In the winter of 2022, his life changed drastically as he took on his first job in ministry as a middle school director while simultaneously getting engaged and married later that year. Travis and his incredible wife Hannah found Church of the Way through what can only be described as many God moments that made it clear to them that this is where God wants them to help students grow from knowing about God to knowing God personally.
