City Serve

On Sunday, June 2, Church of The Way will move beyond the walls of the building and into the Downriver Community.  We are a church for Downriver, and City Serve is one of the many ways we will express our love to our community. During City Serve, we will have multiple different service opportunities that you and your family can love and serve our community. There are places on campus for young children and families, as well as a massive park event in Taylor. From the community as a whole to those who serve our community, to the individual, Church of The Way will make the love of Jesus known tangibly on Sunday, June 2. We will begin the morning with a combined worship service and then be commissioned to our different areas to serve. Please check out the places you and your family can serve during City Serve and sign up today. Many options have a limited number of people who can participate, but there is a place for EVERYONE! We cannot wait to see what God will do in and through CTW.

City Serve  One Combined Service

On Sunday, June 2, we will have one combined service outside, under a tent, in the old-school style. We will gather at 9:30a to worship Jesus, be reminded why we serve, and then be commissioned to serve our city. We want everyone who is registered to serve to attend service together. Then, we will send you out to your respective areas to serve. We have a place for everyone to serve, but you must register beforehand, as many of our service opportunities have limited space. Please check out the different serve opportunities below and register today!

City Serve  Collection Dates

In order to provide the community with the necessary support, we are asking everyone at CTW to participate by collecting canned goods, shoes, hygiene items, soda cans, and tote bags. With the event at Heritage Park, we would like to provide anyone and everyone with groceries, shoes for their kids, clothes, and hygiene products. This will be an incredible blessing as we partner with the Taylor School district to invite the families to join us on June 2. The tote bags are a blessing as families will have food, clothes, and shoes to carry with them. Those tote bags can be reused for multiple purposes and are a nice touch to everything else provided.
The Gibraltar Food Pantry has a can and bottle collection that helps fund the purchase of various items to keep their pantry open. We want to provide them with as many bottles and cans as we can!

All of the items we are collecting will be collected on two different dates. Please note that the location of the collection is not the church, as we do not have the space to store these goods. You can check the links below for detailed information about the items needed.

Collection Dates:
Saturday, May 4, 9a-11a (Non-perishable food, hygiene items, tote bags)
Saturday, May 18, 9a-11a (Children's shoes, cans, tote bags)

Collection Location:
USMCA Transportation
2650 Van Horn Road Ste B

City Serve Opportunities

Heritage Park

Food, Clothing, and Supply Give-A-Way
A large group from CTW will gather at Heritage Park from 12:30p to 2:30p to provide free food, clothing, and other items for any family in need. We will provide lunch, have bounce houses for kids to play in, and provide any support we can to families in need. We have connected with the Taylor school district, and they will send out information about our park event to families. This will be a massive blessing to so many, and we need 75+ people to help make this happen.
